When you run a clothing brand, unfortunately not every item you get from the manufacturer is good to go. Whether it be a small hole, a little stain, or an embroidery issue, there are some items that we are unable to ever send to you guys, unless there are any takers for the item below!

We hate seeing any items go to waste though, and so we came up with a creative solution. Our friend Danielle, who we also met at university, runs a Depop page and regularly saves clothes from landfill. She always promotes sustainable fashion through second-hand clothing, and with this in mind, we set about partnering with her to combine some of our defective items in new styles, to give them a second life.

The pieces include a black and white crop top, a pink hoodie and sweatshirt combination and then a daring mix between our grey and blue hoodie. Danielle is currently running a giveaway on her Instagram for all of these totally unique one-off items, as well as so much more included in her ‘sustainable bundles’. Go and check out the giveaway here and make sure to get involved!

Unfortunately, we couldn’t combine all of our defective items, and so instead donated them to Take One Leave One (TOLO), a campaign launched in December 2020 which sees people put items on a clothes rail in a public place for homeless people to pick up and use. New locations are popping up regularly around London and the rest of the UK so if you notice one in your area please think of donating any unwanted clothes you might have as it could massively help someone in need.

Honestly, the break away from it made me realise how much I missed doing it. I had got to a point where I was performing at least three times a month, at open mics, birthdays and after parties whatever I could. Losing that had its affects so I’m super glad that we’re back in business.

Earlier this year we lost our close friend and colleague Olisa Odukwe, or Oli as we knew him, at just 20 years of age. Oli was an unbelievable guy, as I'm sure anyone who met him would attest to. Kind, brave and loyal, he was not only a pleasure to work with but he was a great mate to us as a group.

By July, over 2,500 people had already signed up to the waiting list to access therapy. In December, with over £800,000 raised, a fantastic sum aided by your generosity, BMMUK officially launched and began helping those in need.
